What a crazy day. The NBA was fantastic, and would have been spectacular if I didn't try and get cute. I passed the Min/Hou game, and of course both the side and total won. There is a reason I do what I do, create angles/systems that take emotion and bias out of the equation. I didn't take my own advice, and I injected my own bias and emotion into making the decision to pass the game. I played the Lakers under basically the same circumstances, 2 teams with nothing to play for. Lesson learned.
The NBA ends the regular season with a profit of 30.3 units, which is outstanding. It started slow once again, but really picked up steam over the course of the 2nd half. Combined with the NCAA we had a 72.6 unit profit over the course of the regular season on basketball alone. Basketball continues to be one of my best sports, and I hope many of you profited from another outstanding basketball season. Let's hope the playoffs can treat us just as well.
The MLB has been really up and down. Today it was the Top Plays that had a rough go of it, while the Regular plays were fantastic. We had 2 really nice dogs with St Louis and the Chi Sox winning at big odds. I mentioned in my pre season baseball post that we will be targeting spots to beat reputation pitchers, and today was a nice spot to get not one but two of them.
Starting today, I will not post any plays until the morning. The lines can really move from the opening number, and some plays become no-plays based on line movement. Today we got burned on Toronto. I had no clue that game would get up to the ridiculous price it did. It was a play up to -205, and one it got above that it was a pass. So I will post in the morning, and also give very specific instructions if the play warrants.
Now you may ask, why does it matter? The game will win or lose regardless of the price. Well, the line dictates how profitable the play is and the risk involved. At a certain price point, a game loses its value based on the win expectation. So we only want to play some games when they are a certain price.
It looks like a light night for Thursday. I'll be back in the morning with the plays. We are up a very solid 4.21 units this week, and I also urge you to be patient with the baseball. It will be just fine, and actually has turned a small profit so far. Have a Great Day and Good Luck with your action.
10am UPDATE:
MLB - Reg Play:
Cincinnati at +106 or more. They were +110 and have dropped to +104. If they get to +106 by game time its a play, otherwise there is no baseball today.
NHL:
Toronto/Washington OVER 5.5 (+110)
There were nothing but UNDERS on the opening night of the NHL playoffs, and the plus money juice for the over reflects that. This line should remain at 5.5, but if for some reason it drops to 5 then its a PASS. Play the OVER only at 5.5.
If I get plays later in the day, I am going to start posting them to Twitter. You can check my Twitter feed later in the day instead of coming back here and scrolling down to see if any exist. So if a late play pops up, I'll just post to Twitter:
